BÈziers
BÈziers sits on the river Orb. Entering the city from the south, the first thing you see is the CathÈdrale St-Nazaire, which dominates the skyline and stands guard over the river below it. The centre of town is the AllÈes Paul Riquet. This is where most of the restaurants are. Most of which have outside seating in the summer months. This is a broad expanse and often markets and fairs are held on it. At the southern end is a large car park, both under and over ground in Place Jean-Jaures. There are lots of narrow streets running west of AllÈes Paul Riquet that are stuffed with shops of all manner, even an English book shop. In Place Pierre SÈmard you will find the covered market selling fresh goods. There are a couple of museums and a good selection of hotels making this a pleasant town to overnight in if touring the region.
