Le Perthus

This is a very strange town on the border with Spain. The French flock here to shop, or to cross the border. The main road through town is a nightmare in the summer with people walking along it whilst others try to park.. Le Perthus is a town of shops selling fruit, vegetables, booze and general tat. If you are after cheap booze and cigarettes, then just cross into Spain and visit le Jonquera. A similar town but with better parking and more on offer.
